Strategies: What Works to Achieve the Results You Want?

States’ efforts to achieve greater equity for children of color in child welfare services are still in the early stages, but promising policies and practices are emerging. These include: regularly tracking progress with data; "stronger preventive services and family reunification services" effective use of kinship care; and partnerships between child welfare agencies and community-based organizations.

The following are six strategy priorities both administrators and policymakers can use to promote safe, health, and equitable outcomes for all children in, or at risk of involvement in, child welfare systems.
